In 2013, Japanese theatre company, Kaze, invited Éric Deniaud of Collectif Kahraba to create fifteen masks and instruct actors in their manipulation. “Pourquoi Hécube” by Matei Visiniec was actualized in Japanese by Ehara Sayaka in Tokyo in 2013, and has been touring Japan since.
In 2015, Kaze once again invited Collectif Kahraba to collaborate on Ehara Sayaka’s direction of “The Caucasian Chalk Circle” by Bertolt Brecht. For this project, Éric Deniaud created seven puppets with the help of Tamara Badreddine. Both Aurelien Zouki and Éric Deniaud visited Tokyo in July 2015 to direct the chorus and puppet manipulation.
“The Caucasian Chalk Circle” will be premiered in Tokyo in August of 2015.
